Job summary

Northern Trust in Chicago is seeking a Personal/Universal Banker to deliver an exceptional client service experience across a full range of banking products. You will interact with clients in person, by phone and email, and handle requests from new accounts to funds transfers and account maintenance.

The role emphasizes adherence to banking guidelines, risk controls, and collaboration with relationship managers.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of federal regulation and banking guidelines; preferred through related work experience.
• Strong client service, problem solving and organizational skills to resolve requests.
• Ability to think critically and work independently or in a team.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Executes and submits client account servicing requests including wires, transfers, opening/closing accounts and maintenance.
• Handles paying and receiving activities, cash transactions and daily balancing.
• Builds understanding of steps for each request and collaborates with relationship management and NCSS teams.
• Adheres to Northern Trust and Wealth Management risk/compliance guidelines and escalates issues as needed.
• Gains knowledge of business applications and banking tools to maintain high service standards.
• Monitors reports and assists with banking audits as directed.
