Job summary

Fulton County Schools seeks a Paraprofessional to support students and staff in classrooms or the media center. The role involves assisting with materials, small-group tutoring, attendance, and various instructional tasks.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, Georgia Paraprofessional certificate eligibility, and 0-1 year of experience. Familiarity with library systems and technology is valued.

Qualifications

• Classroom experience and/or proven ability to work with children preferred
• Must be able to follow written and oral instructions quickly and accurately
• Must be able to handle sensitive and confidential information
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with students and adults
• Excellent organizational skills and flexibility
• Technology proficiency with library/media equipment handling
• Knowledge of library organization and filing procedures
• If in Dual Immersion, proficiency in language of instruction

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in preparing educational materials
• Work with students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning objectives
• Distribute and collect supplies and maintain attendance records
• Participate in lunchroom, recess, hall monitoring, and bus duties
• Maintain and update bulletin boards and learning centers
• Monitor library/media center resources and assist with media tasks
• Utilize Destiny Library Manager to check materials in/out
• Generate reports on overdue or lost books and fines
• Staff circulation desk and assist with student devices
• Direct student assistants in assigned duties
• Maintain orderly media center and equipment
• Attend trainings related to Dual Immersion program as applicable
• Perform other duties as assigned by administrator
