Job summary

Fulton County Schools is seeking a Paraprofessional to support teachers and students in classroom and media center settings. Responsibilities include preparing materials, assisting with small groups, and helping manage daily routines and library operations.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, Georgia Paraprofessional certification eligibility, or higher education credits, and 0-1 year of experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must pass the GACE para assessment; in lieu of the GACE Assessment and have 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours of a grade of C or better; hold an Associate's Degree or higher at a GaPSC-accepted accredited institution is acceptable.
• Must be able to obtain Georgia PSC Paraprofessional Certificate.
• 0-1 year experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in preparing educational materials for students.
• Work with students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning objectives.
• Assist with all aspects of the daily routine, including distributing and collecting supplies, keeping attendance records, and grading quizzes as assigned.
• Participate in lunchroom, recess, hall-monitoring, and bus duties.
• Assist with preparing and maintaining bulletin boards and other learning centers areas for instruction.
• Monitor student use of the library and assist with instructional tasks.
• Assist students and teachers in locating and using media/technology resources.
• Assist with inventory of media center materials, processing of new materials, displays, and media productions.
• Staff circulation desk; check materials in and out using Destiny Library Manager.
• Direct student assistants in assigned duties.
