Job summary

Old Republic Commercial Risk is seeking a claims supervisor to lead a team, ensure timely documentation, and drive compliant claim outcomes. You will mentor staff, set priorities, and manage resources to meet department goals.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years in insurance, supervisory experience, and strong communication and analytical skills. Travel may be required as part of business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and/or a minimum of three years of work experience in an insurance related industry required.
• Extensive knowledge of workers' compensation regulations in VT, RI, CT and NH, insurance contracts, applicable law and adjusting techniques.
• Previous supervisory experience required.
• Familiarity with medical terminology.
• Demonstrated leadership, coaching, mentoring and teamwork skills.
• Advanced skills in applying sound judgment, analysis, decision making, problem solving, planning and negotiation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer service and collaboration skills from prior work experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the assignment of losses to claims staff and provides technical direction through diary management.
• Ensures timely, accurate documentation of claim activity.
• Trains, coaches and mentors unit personnel.
• Plans staff responsibilities and directs activities to meet department goals within approved plans and budgets.
• Develops staff to respond to department needs and career development goals.
