Job summary

Ascot Group in Stamford, CT is seeking a Claims Counsel, Professional Liability, to join the Financial Lines Claims team. The role requires legal expertise to investigate, analyze, and disposition claims and related litigation.

The successful candidate will partner with underwriting and internal partners to optimize outcomes, maintain licenses, and participate in strategic initiatives while embracing Ascot's Client Centric, Risk Centric, and Technology Centric approach.

Qualifications

• J.D. or related field required.
• Minimum 3 years of legal or claim handling experience.
• Experience with professional liability claims preferred.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of professional liability claims with supervision.
• Analyze loss notices, draft coverage letters, and collaborate with counsel.
• Maintain claims files and prepare loss development reports.
• Coordinate with underwriting and brokers on claim exposures.
• Represent Ascot at mediations and industry conferences.
