Job summary

Ascot Group, a leading specialty risk underwriting organization, is seeking a Senior Claims Counsel, Management Liability, to join our Financial Lines Claims team in Stamford, CT. You will conduct investigations, evaluate claims, and provide strategic legal advice to internal partners while leveraging AI-enabled tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree, with a J.D., preferred, or related field of study.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant legal or claim handling experience, ideally in Management Liability.
• Ability to resolve conflicts professionally and negotiate terms within authority.
• Strong verbal and written communication and collaboration with partners.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of primary and excess Management Liability Claims (Public Co. D&O, Private Co. D&O, EPL, Fiduciary).
• Analyze, investigate, and resolve claims with moderate supervision.
• Prepare reports reflecting loss development, exposure, reserves, and coverage issues.
• Collaborate with underwriting on significant claim exposures.
• Draft coverage correspondence and manage outside counsel.
• Maintain comprehensive claims files and stay current on ML and Financial Institutions trends.
