Job summary

Ascot Group, a world-class specialty risk underwriter, seeks a Senior Claims Counsel, Management Liability to join its Financial Lines Claims team in New York. You will conduct investigations, analyze claims, and provide legal advice to internal partners, aiming to optimize results and service.

The role requires at least 5 years of relevant experience, a JD preferred, and the ability to work with AI tools, travel for mediations and conferences, and maintain licenses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; J.D. preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years in legal or claims handling, focusing on Management Liability.
• Strong negotiation and decision-making within authority limits.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Manage primary and excess Management Liability claims, including D&O and EPL.
• Analyze, investigate and resolve claims with moderate supervision.
• Prepare reports reflecting loss development, exposure, reserves, and strategies.
• Collaborate with underwriting on significant claim exposures.
• Maintain comprehensive claims files and licenses.
