Job summary

Sentry is offering a Claims Co-op position designed for UW-Stevens Point students. You will work part-time during the school year and full-time during breaks, gaining hands-on experience in investigations, negotiations, and policy reviews in our Stevens Point location.

You’ll be mentored and learn to document investigations and communicate clearly with customers, with a hybrid work model and opportunities to grow professionally through SentryU.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate or associate degree in Business, Insurance, Communication, and English or a related field.
• Obtain a minimum GPA of 2.7.
• Expected graduation May 2029 through December 2029.
• Work up to 20 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during breaks.
• Ability to work in a team atmosphere.
• Licensing may be required.
• Sentry does not offer employment to holders of certain visas for practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Understand how claims are handled with guidance from a mentor.
• Gain hands-on insight into negotiations and settlement processes to reach fair resolutions.
• Guide customers through the claims process with care and understanding.
• Review policy details to verify coverage and policy limits.
• Gather facts and review documentation to understand what happened.
• Maintain clear records of investigations, communications, and steps taken.
