Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Akron, OH, seeks an Engineering Intern to support Transmission & Distribution design tasks and assist lead engineers on varied projects. The role involves standard engineering tasks, updating designs, and data collection for presentations.

The candidate should be pursuing a bachelor’s in Civil or Structural Engineering, with ABET accreditation preferred, and strong communication and problem-solving abilities. A 3.0 GPA is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited program.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Prior internship or related consulting experience preferred.
• Active involvement in campus or community activities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with filing, scanning, data entry, documentation and Power Point presentation.
• Assist with responses to general questions.
• Participate in continuous improvement by collecting and analyzing data.
• Present solutions to concerns.
• Research solutions to project concerns; analyze and recommend solutions to problems.
• Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
