Job summary

Centrus Energy is seeking an experienced Civil/Structural Design Engineer to lead engineering development of facility modifications at the Piketon, Ohio site. This role focuses on ensuring structural steel, concrete systems, foundations, and equipment supports meet high safety and regulatory standards from design to turnover.

You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and I&C teams, perform analyses for static and dynamic loads, develop design packages, support field execution, and help

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent) from an ABET-accredited institution.
• 5+ years of experience in structural design, analysis, and field support, preferably in regulated/industrial/nuclear environments.
• Strong working knowledge of AISC and ACI codes.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Q level security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil/structural design and analysis for site modifications, including static/dynamic loads (wind, seismic, thermal).
• Develop, review, and redline design packages for foundations, structural steel, and equipment anchorage.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and I&C teams for loads and layout constraints.
• Support construction through field walkdowns, RFIs/RFCs, and as-built updates to ensure configuration control and safety.
• Prepare procurement packages (ROMs, SOWs) for subcontracted fabrication and installation.
