Job summary

Thompson Engineering in the United States is seeking a diligent Civil QA/QC Inspector to oversee quality assurance and control for earthworks, concrete, asphalt, utilities, drainage and structural components on civil projects. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 3-5 years of civil construction QA/QC experience.
• Familiarity with ASTM, ACI, AASHTO and other standards.
• Experience reviewing ITPs and QCPs.
• Knowledge of construction materials testing procedures.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and QA/QC reporting tools.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Conduct QA/QC inspections for civil construction activities listed (earthwork, foundation, concrete placement, utilities, roadways, structural components).
• Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Prepare and maintain daily inspection reports, test results, NCRs, and corrective actions.
• Monitor work to ensure compliance with ITPs.
• Coordinate with contractors, site engineers, consultants, and QA managers on quality issues.
• Verify materials and workmanship meet submittals and standards.
• Attend quality and coordination meetings as needed.
• Document and archive inspection and testing records.
• Identify recurring quality issues and suggest improvements.
