Job summary

Thompson Engineering is seeking a dedicated Civil QA/QC Inspector to join our growing team in the Southeast. You will oversee quality assurance and control for earthworks, concrete, utilities, drainage, and structural components, ensuring compliance with codes, standards, project specifications, and quality plans.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of civil construction QA/QC experience, knowledge of ASTM/ACI/AASHTO standards, and proficiency with ITPs/QCPs.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of civil construction QA/QC experience.
• Familiarity with ASTM, ACI, AASHTO standards.
• Experience reviewing ITPs and QCPs.
• Proficiency in QA/QC reporting.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel.

Responsibilities

• Conduct QA/QC inspections for civil construction activities including earthworks, foundation, concrete placement, utilities, roadways, and structural components.
• Review and interpret project drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Prepare and maintain daily inspection reports, test results, NCRs, and corrective action documentation.
• Monitor construction work to ensure compliance with ITPs.
• Coordinate with contractors, site engineers, consultants, and quality managers to address quality issues.
• Verify materials and workmanship meet approved submittals and standards.
• Attend quality and coordination meetings as needed.
• Ensure inspection and testing records are properly documented and archived.
• Support continuous improvement by identifying recurring quality issues and suggesting practical solutions.
