Job summary

Thompson Engineering is seeking a dedicated Civil QA/QC Inspector to oversee quality assurance and control for civil construction projects, including earthworks, concrete, asphalt, utilities, drainage, and structures. The role ensures compliance with codes, standards, project specifications, and quality plans.

The ideal candidate will review drawings, prepare daily reports, NCRs, and corrective actions, and coordinate with contractors and site engineers to resolve quality issues.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of civil construction QA/QC experience.
• Knowledge of ASTM, ACI, AASHTO codes.
• Experience reviewing ITPs and QCPs.
• Familiarity with construction materials testing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Conduct QA/QC inspections for earthwork, foundations, concrete, utilities, roadways, and structures.
• Review drawings, specs, and quality requirements.
• Prepare daily inspection reports, test results, NCRs, and corrective actions.
• Monitor work against ITPs and ensure proper documentation.
• Coordinate with contractors, site engineers, and quality managers to resolve issues.
• Verify materials and workmanship meet submittals and standards.
• Attend quality meetings and archive inspection records.
• Support continuous quality improvement by identifying recurring issues.
