Job summary

Thompson Engineering seeks a Civil QA/QC Inspector to oversee quality assurance and control across earthwork, foundations, concrete, utilities, and roadwork. You will review drawings, interpret quality requirements, and prepare inspection reports to ensure compliance with project specs and standards.

The role requires 3–5 years in civil construction QA/QC with knowledge of ASTM/ACI/AASHTO, ITPs, and QC plans. Travel to project sites and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of civil construction QA/QC experience.
• Knowledge of ASTM, ACI, AASHTO codes and quality standards.
• Experience reviewing and implementing ITPs and QCPs.
• Familiarity with construction materials testing procedures.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct QA/QC inspections for earthwork, foundations, concrete, utilities, roads, and structures.
• Review drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Prepare and maintain daily inspection reports, NCRs, and corrective actions.
• Monitor and enforce ITPs and QC plans on site.
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and quality managers on issues.
• Verify materials and workmanship meet submittals and standards.
• Attend quality meetings and document issues.
• Archive inspection and testing records accurately.
• Identify recurring quality problems and suggest improvements.
