Job summary

HauglandGroup on Long Island, NY seeks an experienced Project Superintendent to join our civil infrastructure and energy construction team. You will supervise daily field operations, ensure site safety, monitor progress, and enforce quality control across projects.

Responsibilities include managing the project schedule, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining cost and schedule baselines, leading weekly meetings, handling RFIs, and promoting collaborative relationships with clients and vendors

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience in construction management or related field.
• Excellent communication abilities, including writing, speaking and active listening.
• Knowledge of construction budgeting best practices.
• Effective leadership abilities, like motivation, goal-setting and conflict management.
• Organizational skills, including time management, delegation, prioritization and multitasking.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance, leadership, mentorship, and direct supervision of site staff, including assistants, laborers and other construction personnel.
• Management of schedule, including weekly preparation of 2-week lookahead.
• Proactively schedule and coordinate all subcontractors to ensure completion of the project on schedule and within budget.
• Coordinate and schedule asphalt material from plant with proper mix designs and tracked quantities.
• Develop understanding of project strategy including financial goals, scheduling, logistics, phasing, milestones, and inspections.
• Manage labor force and usage; coordinate equipment needs and usage.
• Ensure operations comply with design/specifications, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
• Lead weekly project and subcontractor meetings; coordinate RFIs and site issues.

KeyFunctions:

• Runweeklymeetings,includingprojectandsubcontractormeetings.
• InitiateRFIprocess;consistingofthecreationofandsuggestionsonsolutionstositeissues.
• Exceedclientexpectationsforeachprojectbyunderstandingclientneeds,wants,preferencesandculture.
• Continuouslypromotepositivesubcontractorrelationsbydealingprofessionallyandfairlywithallsubcontractorsandvendorsinstillingthisphilosophyinprojectteam.
• Maintainandreviewpunchlistprocesstoensureallareaddressedandexecutedinatimelymanner.
• Managecloseoutprocessandwarrantyresponseswithprojectmanager.

DesiredQualifications:
