HauglandGroup, a Long Island-based civil infrastructure and energy construction company, seeks a Civil Field Engineer to join the Project Management team. You will support construction projects with submittal processing, material management, and budget analysis.

This role requires 1+ year of relevant experience, a bachelor's degree in construction management or civil engineering, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of relevant construction experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or civil engineering preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and standard computer applications.
• Demonstrates initiative and commitment to timely task completion.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Track project scope by line items related to job phases and schedule, identify cost variances and report to PM.
• Manage T&M, MURK and other extra work deliverables.
• Support preparation/review of change orders, backcharges, and cost transfers.
• Review and verify craft labor timesheets from Foreman.
• Code and approve invoices with AP and Contract Administration.
• Manage relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
• Coordinate with PM and Superintendent to ensure proactive cost management.
• Assist in monthly pencil requisitions and final requisitions for client review.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reporting.

KeyFunctions:

• Tracktheprojectscopebylineitemsastheyrelatetothejobphasesandschedule.Identifycostslippage,overruns,potentialoverruns,savingsopportunities,andreportthesetotheProjectManager.
• ManageT&M,MURK,andotherextraworkdeliverables.
• Supporttheprojectteaminthepreparationandreviewofchangeorders,backcharges,andcosttransfers.

DesiredQualifications:

• 1+yearsofrelevantexperience,ideallyincivilconstruction.
• Bachelor’sdegreeinconstructionmanagement,civilengineeringpreferred.
• ProficientintheuseofMicrosoftOfficeandstandardcomputerapplications.
• Displayahighlevelofinitiative,effort,andcommitmenttowardscompletingassignmentsinatimelymanner.
• Abilitytoidentifyproblems,determineaccuracyandrelevanceofinformation,usesoundjudgmenttogenerateandevaluatealternatives,andmakerecommendations.
• Effectivecommunicationskills,interpersonalandorganizationalskills,andastrongworkethic.
