Job summary

HauglandGroup is seeking a Field Engineer to join the Project Management team on a construction projects support role including submittal processing, material management, and budget analysis.

This is a hybrid remote position with travel to active project sites, including extended stays on location; anticipated travel about 30%.

Ideal candidates will have 0-2 years of relevant experience, a degree in construction management or civil engineering, and strong initiative and cost-management skills.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of relevant experience in civil construction or related field.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management or Civil Engineering preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and standard computer applications.
• Demonstrates initiative, effort, and commitment to completing assignments on time.
• Ability to identify problems, assess information, use sound judgment, and make recommendations.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Track project scope by line items related to job phases and schedule; identify cost slippage and report to PM.
• Manage T&M, MURK, and other extra-work deliverables.
• Support project team in preparation and review of change orders, backcharges, and cost transfers.
• Review and verify craft labor timesheets from the Foreman.
• Code and approve invoices with Accounts Payable and Contract Administration.
• Manage relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
• Communicate with PM, Superintendent and Foreman to ensure proactive cost management.
• Coordinate with PM and Contract Admin to prepare monthly pencil requisitions and final requisitions.
• Assist in preparation of financial reporting.

• Tracktheprojectscopebylineitemsastheyrelatetothejobphasesandschedule.Identifycostslippage,overruns,potentialoverruns,savingsopportunities,andreportthesetotheProjectManager.
