Job summary

Haugland Group, a privately owned Long Island, NY infrastructure and energy construction company, seeks an experienced Business Systems Analyst to bridge business stakeholders and technical teams. You will gather requirements, analyze processes, document workflows, and support testing to ensure solutions meet operational needs and deliver value.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of construction workflows, including estimating, project management, payroll, and compliance.
• Experience with ERP systems and estimating tools is preferred.
• Ability to document requirements, processes and workflows clearly for technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, and observations to identify business needs and document requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Create current-state and future-state process maps for cost tracking, payroll, change management, and RFI workflows; identify gaps and automation opportunities.
• Support system selection, upgrades, data migration, validation, and vendor coordination; develop UAT plans and coordinate testing cycles.
• Develop functional specifications, SOPs, training materials, and knowledge bases to enable user adoption and training.

KeyFunctions:

• Conductstakeholderinterviews,workshops,andobservationsacrossEstimating,Operations,Finance,HR,andSafetytoidentifybusinessneeds,documentprocesses,painpoints,improvementopportunities,anddevelopfunctionalrequirements,userstories,andacceptancecriteria.
• Createcurrent-stateandfuture-stateprocessmapsforjobcosttracking,certifiedpayroll,changeordermanagement,andRFI/submittalworkflows,identifyinginefficienciesandrecommendingautomationorsystemenhancements.
• Supportsystemselection,upgrades,fit-gapanalysis,applicationconfigurationvalidationwithvendorsandinternalteams,anddatamigrationplanning,includingmapping,cleansing,andvalidation.
• DevelopUATtestplansandscripts,coordinatetestingcycles,logdefects,verifyfixes,andvalidatesystemintegrations.
• Preparefunctionalspecifications,processguides,SOPs,trainingmaterials,andapplicationknowledgebaseswhileassistingwithend-usertraining.
• DefinedashboardandKPIreportingrequirementsandvalidatedataaccuracyincostreports,WIPschedules,andcompliancereports.
• AlongwiththePMteamandpost-go-liveteam,gatherpost-implementationfeedback,monitorsystemusageandadoptionmetrics,andrecommendimprovementsornewfeaturesbasedonuserfeedbackandindustrybestpractices.

DesiredQualifications:

• Strongunderstandingofconstructionworkflows,includingestimating,projectmanagement,payroll,andcompliance.
• FamiliaritywithERPsystems,projectmanagementplatforms,andestimatingtoolssuchasViewpoint,Procore,andHCSS.
• Proficiencyinprocessmodelingtools(Visio,Lucidchart)andreportingtools(PowerBI,CrystalReports).
• Excellentwrittenandverbalcommunicationskills,withtheabilitytoclearlyconveyinformationtobothtechnicalandnon-technicalaudiences.
• Exceptionaldocumentationskillswiththeabilitytoconsistentlyandaccuratelycaptureprocesses,requirements,workflows,anddecisionsandtranslatethemintodetailed,easy-to-followSOPsandprocessdocumentation.
• AbilitytocollaboratewithIT,vendors,andfunctionaldepartmentleadsacrossEstimating,Finance,andOperations.
