Job summary

Vogrinc Search Group in Nashville, TN, seeks an experienced Civil Preconstruction Estimator to lead our preconstruction department. You will analyze drawings, prepare detailed cost estimates, and guide bid strategies to win projects.

The role requires 3+ years in civil estimating, strong Excel/estimating software skills (Bid-To-Win, HeavyBid, AutoCAD, AGTEK), and excellent communication and negotiation abilities. Competitive compensation, bonus, and benefits provided.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as an estimator in the civil construction industry.
• Proven track record estimating a range of civil projects (excavation, sitework, utilities).
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.
• Orchestrate the estimating & bid processes for our civil projects.
• Identify labor, materials, and time requirements by studying proposals and plans.
• Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Prepare bid packages and present final estimates to senior management.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits when necessary.
• Provide value engineering recommendations.
• Maintain historical cost data and develop estimating templates and tools.
