Job summary

Genie Matthews and Associates in Nashville, TN is seeking an experienced Civil Preconstruction Estimator to lead our preconstruction department. You will analyze drawings and specs to prepare detailed cost estimates, orchestrate bid processes, and manage subcontractor quotes to win work.

The role calls for 3+ years in civil estimating, proficiency with Bid-To-Win/HeavyBid/AutoCAD/AGTEK/Excel, and strong communication and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of civil construction estimating experience.
• Proven track record estimating excavation, sitework, utilities.
• Proficient with Bid-To-Win, HeavyBid, AutoCAD, AGTEK and Excel.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Eye for detail and strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.
• Orchestrate the estimating & bid processes for civil projects.
• Identify labor, materials, and time requirements by studying proposals and plans.
• Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Prepare bid packages and present final estimates to senior management.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits when necessary.
• Provide value engineering recommendations.
• Maintain historical cost data and develop estimating templates and tools.
