Job summary

Fishbeck in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Civil Field Internship for Summer 2027. You will assist with daily reports and verify that construction meets design specifications while working with our Civil Field team.

Currently enrolled in Civil or Environmental Engineering, you will gain hands-on experience outdoors, travel to project sites, and collaborate with engineers and inspectors. This paid internship offers growth opportunities and a supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Civil or Environmental Engineering program.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Prior experience in construction, field inspection, or testing is a plus.
• Comfortable working outdoors and traveling to project sites.
• Eager to learn and contribute to meaningful infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

Employment Type: Full-Time Internship

Working with our Civil Field team, you will help with daily reports and assist with verifying construction meets all specifications and other requirements.

What You’ll Do

• Help prepare daily reports documenting jobsite conditions and completed work.
• Assist in verifying that construction meets design and contract requirements.
• Support engineers and inspectors with Requests for Information (RFIs).
• Participate in site visits and observe project execution firsthand.
• Learn how to communicate findings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
