Job summary

Fishbeck is offering a Civil Field Internship for Summer 2027 in Michigan. The role supports daily reporting, site inspections, and collaboration with engineers and inspectors across regional offices.

Interns will gain hands-on experience in witnessing project execution, verifying specifications, and communicating findings, with opportunities for hybrid schedules and professional development support.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Civil or Environmental Engineering program.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Prior experience in construction, field inspection, or testing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Help prepare daily reports documenting jobsite conditions and completed work.
• Assist in verifying that construction meets design and contract requirements.

Working with our Civil Field team, you will help with daily reports and assist with verifying construction meets all specifications and other requirements.

What You’ll Do

• Help prepare daily reports documenting jobsite conditions and completed work.
• Assist in verifying that construction meets design and contract requirements.
• Support engineers and inspectors with Requests for Information (RFIs).
• Participate in site visits and observe project execution firsthand.
• Learn how to communicate findings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

What We’re Looking For

• Currently enrolled in a Civil or Environmental Engineering program.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Prior experience in construction, field inspection, or testing is a plus.
• Comfortable working outdoors and traveling to project sites.
• Eager to learn and contribute to meaningful infrastructure projects.
