Job summary

Fishbeck is seeking a Civil Field Internship for Summer 2027 in Farmington Hills, MI. You will assist in daily jobsite reporting, verify construction adherence to specifications, and support engineers and inspectors with RFIs.

The role offers exposure to multidisciplinary teams, site visits, and opportunities to contribute to meaningful infrastructure projects while learning the industry. Open to students in Civil/Environmental programs and outdoor work.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Civil or Environmental Engineering program.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Prior experience in construction, field inspection, or testing is a plus.
• Comfortable working outdoors and traveling to project sites.
• Eager to learn and contribute to meaningful infrastructure projects.

Working with our Civil Field team, you will help with daily reports and assist with verifying construction meets all specifications and other requirements.

What You’ll Do

• Help prepare daily reports documenting jobsite conditions and completed work.
• Assist in verifying that construction meets design and contract requirements.
• Support engineers and inspectors with Requests for Information (RFIs).
• Participate in site visits and observe project execution firsthand.
• Learn how to communicate findings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
