Job summary

Fishbeck in Michigan is seeking a Civil Field Intern to support our Civil Field team on active projects. You will help with daily reports, document jobsite conditions, and verify that work meets design and contract requirements.

You'll assist engineers and inspectors with RFIs, participate in site visits, and learn to communicate findings while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. This internship emphasizes hands-on learning and professional growth in infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Civil or Environmental Engineering program.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Prior experience in construction, field inspection, or testing is a plus.

Working with our Civil Field team, you will help with daily reports and assist with verifying construction meets all specifications and other requirements.

• Assist in verifying that construction meets design and contract requirements.
• Support engineers and inspectors with Requests for Information (RFIs).
• Participate in site visits and observe project execution firsthand.
• Learn how to communicate findings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

What We’re Looking For

• Currently enrolled in a Civil or Environmental Engineering program.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Prior experience in construction, field inspection, or testing is a plus.
• Comfortable working outdoors and traveling to project sites.
• Eager to learn and contribute to meaningful infrastructure projects.
