Job summary

Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr & Huber is seeking a Civil Field Internship for Summer 2027 in Lansing, MI. You will work with our Civil Field team to assist with daily reports, site observations, and verifying construction meets specifications.

This internship offers exposure to regional Michigan offices, hands-on field experience, and opportunities to contribute to infrastructure projects while learning from engineers and inspectors.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Civil or Environmental Engineering program.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Prior experience in construction, field inspection, or testing is a plus.
• Comfortable outdoors and traveling to project sites.
• Eager to learn and contribute to infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Help prepare daily reports documenting jobsite conditions and completed work.
• Assist in verifying that construction meets design and contract requirements.
• Support engineers and inspectors with RFIs.
• Participate in site visits and observe project execution firsthand.
• Learn how to communicate findings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Civil Field Internship - Summer 2027 Location: Regional Michigan Offices Employment Type: Full-Time For over 70 years Fishbeck has been building. Working with our Civil Field team, you will help with daily reports and assist with verifying construction meets all specifications and other requirements.
