Job summary

Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr & Huber invites a Civil Field Intern for Summer 2027 in Farmington Hills, MI. You will assist with daily reports, verify construction meets specs, and support engineers and inspectors on site.

This paid internship offers exposure to infrastructure projects, travel to job sites, and opportunities for hybrid and flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in Civil or Environmental Engineering program.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Prior experience in construction, field inspection, or testing is a plus.

Working with our Civil Field team, you will help with daily reports and assist with verifying construction meets all specifications and other requirements.

What You’ll Do

• Help prepare daily reports documenting jobsite conditions and completed work.
• Assist in verifying that construction meets design and contract requirements.
• Support engineers and inspectors with Requests for Information (RFIs).
• Participate in site visits and observe project execution firsthand.
• Learn how to communicate findings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

• Currently enrolled in a Civil or Environmental Engineering program.
