Job summary

Fishbeck in Lansing, MI is seeking a Civil Field Internship for Summer 2027. The role supports daily reporting, field verification of design and contract requirements, RFIs, and site visits. You will learn to communicate findings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on infrastructure projects.

This internship offers exposure to regional Michigan offices, a full-time schedule, and opportunities to grow professionally while contributing to meaningful civil projects.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Civil or Environmental Engineering program.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Prior experience in construction, field inspection, or testing is a plus.
• Comfortable working outdoors and traveling to project sites.
• Eager to learn and contribute to meaningful infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

Working with our Civil Field team, you will help with daily reports and assist with verifying construction meets all specifications and other requirements.

What You'll Do

• Help prepare daily reports documenting jobsite conditions and completed work.
• Assist in verifying that construction meets design and contract requirements.
• Support engineers and inspectors with Requests for Information (RFIs).
• Participate in site visits and observe project execution firsthand.
• Learn how to communicate findings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
