Job summary

MacKay is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to join our Water Resources team in Raton, NM for 10-12 weeks during Summer 2027. You will work on real projects under experienced engineers, developing practical engineering skills and learning how to apply standards on water resources, energy, and municipal projects.

Candidates should be enrolled in a civil engineering program with a minimum 3.2 GPA, and strong writing and communication abilities.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in a BS in civil engineering or related program.
• GPA minimum 3.2.
• Strong writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop practical experience in solving engineering problems and applying standards.
• Review plans, site layouts, and specs to ensure compliance and safety.
• Gain hands-on experience with AutoCAD Civil3D.
• Meet deadlines and work closely in a team environment.
• Assist in preparing designs, specs, and cost estimates for project portions.
• Analyze technical data and support senior engineers on projects.
