Job summary

MacKay in Roseville, CA is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for a 10-12 week summer program in 2027. You will work on the Land Development team alongside experienced engineers to gain hands-on experience on water resources, land development, municipal and other projects, with exposure to Civil3D and plan interpretation.

Applicants must be enrolled in a civil engineering program, maintain at least a 3.2 GPA, and possess strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum GPA 3.2.
• Hands-on experience with Civil Engineering software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop practical experience in resolving engineering problems and adapting approved methods and standards.
• Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications or construction methods to ensure compliance with legal requirements and safety regulations.
• Gain hands-on experience with AutoCAD Civil3D.
• Meet deadlines, communicate and work closely in a team environment.
• Prepare engineering designs and specifications on assigned portions of a project accurately and in a timely manner.
• Prepare cost estimates with quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or time and cost of labor to determine project feasibility or bond quantity amounts.
