Job summary

MacKay is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to join the Water Resources team in Fort Collins, CO for 10-12 weeks during Summer 2027. You will work on real projects, developing practical design and analysis skills under seasoned engineers.

Responsibilities include reviewing plans, preparing designs and cost estimates, and gaining hands-on experience with AutoCAD Civil3D while meeting deadlines in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in a BS Civil Engineering or related program.
• Hands-on experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred.
• Strong writing, communication, and customer service skills.
• Proficient in the Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Develop practical experience in resolving engineering problems and applying standards.
• Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications or construction methods for compliance.
• Gain hands-on experience with AutoCAD Civil3D.
• Meet deadlines and collaborate in a team environment.
• Prepare engineering designs and specifications for project portions.
