Job summary

Halff is seeking a Land Development Intern for our Dallas, TX office. The Civil Engineer Intern will assist with design and construction observation on public and private infrastructure projects, including roadways, drainage, site work and parks.

The internship runs June 7 to August 13, 2027. Interns are paid hourly, work full-time (40 hours/week), typically 8am-5pm, and housing is not provided.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's in Civil Engineering (ABET accredited equivalent).
• Great communication skills.
• Solid relationship and team building skills.
• Self-motivated and strong organization skills.

Responsibilities

• Design civil engineering projects under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer
• Assist in the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Water/Wastewater, Public Works, and Land Development projects
• Perform drafting CAD work
• Perform calculations and analysis for design projects
• Assist in the preparation of permit applications and other regulatory documents
• Coordinate with other team members, including surveyors, architects, and contractors
• Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies
