Job summary

Halff Associates, Inc. in Houston, TX is seeking a Land Development Intern for the summer.

The intern will assist in design and construction observation of public and private infrastructure projects, including roadways, drainage, site work, parks and trails. You will design civil engineering projects under supervision, assist with plans, specs, cost estimates, CAD drafting, calculations, permit applications, and coordinate with surveyors, architects, and contractors.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Civil Engineering
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• ABET-accredited equivalent degree expected

Responsibilities

• Design civil engineering projects under supervision
• Assist in plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Water/Wastewater, Public Works, and Land Development projects
• Perform drafting CAD work
• Perform calculations and analyses for design projects
• Assist in permit applications and regulatory documents
• Coordinate with surveyors, architects, and contractors
• Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies
