Job summary

Halff is seeking a Public Works Intern for our Dallas, TX office. The Civil Engineering Intern will assist on Public Works and Transportation projects, with an internship from June 7, 2027 to August 13, 2027.

Interns are paid hourly and work full-time (40 hours/week), typically 8a-5p Monday through Friday. Housing is not provided. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience with Halff’s Public Works team.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering Degree.
• Great communication skills.
• Solid relationship and team building skills.
• Self-motivated and strong organization skills.

Responsibilities

• Design civil engineering projects under supervision of a Professional Engineer.
• Assist in plans, specs, and cost estimates for Public Works/Transportation projects.
• Perform drafting CAD work.
• Perform calculations and analysis for design projects.
• Assist in permit applications and other regulatory documents.
• Coordinate with surveyors, architects, and contractors.
• Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies.
