Job summary

Halff Associates, Inc. is seeking a Civil Engineering Public Works Intern for our Dallas, TX office. The internship runs June 7 through August 13, 2027, offering hands-on experience on Public Works and Transportation projects under a Professional Engineer's supervision.

Interns are paid hourly, work full-time (40 hours/week), typically 8a-5p, Monday through Friday, and housing is not provided. The role emphasizes drafting CAD work, calculations, and coordination with teams and clients.

Qualifications

Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering Degree.
Great communication skills.
Solid relationship and team building skills.
Self-motivated and strong organization skills.

Responsibilities

Design civil engineering projects under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer.
Assist in the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Public Works and Transportation projects.
Perform drafting CAD work.
Perform calculations and analysis for design projects.
Assist in the preparation of permit applications and other regulatory documents.
Coordinate with other team members, including surveyors, architects, and contractors.
Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies.
