Job summary

Schnabel is seeking a temporary full-time Civil Engineering Intern for May–August 2027 to support geotechnical, geostructural, tunnel, and dam engineering projects in Boise, Idaho. The role emphasizes applying professional principles to real problems under supervision of senior engineers.

Ideal candidates are ABET-accredited Civil Engineering students, with strong communication skills, teamwork, and a willingness to work outdoors on office and field tasks, including travel and lifting up to 50

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program.
• Good oral and written communication; computer literacy.
• Willingness to perform office and field tasks; outdoor work.
• Ability to routinely lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist in geotechnical investigations and analyses, retaining wall/excavation support design, hydrology and hydraulic studies; and reinforced concrete design.
• Prepare construction plans.
• Support advanced earthquake engineering analyses.
• Perform construction observation and materials testing.
• Some travel may be required.
