Job summary

Schnabel is a global employee-owned engineering firm in Boise, Idaho. We seek a temporary full-time Civil Engineering Intern for May–August 2027 to support our geotechnical, geostructural, tunnel, and dam engineering teams. You will learn under senior engineers while applying professional principles to real problems.

The role emphasizes broadening practical knowledge with active involvement in field and office tasks, construction plans, and analyses. ABET-accredited program enrollment required.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program.
• Able to communicate clearly and work in a team.
• Willingness to perform office and field tasks and to work outdoors.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist in geotechnical investigations and analyses, retaining wall/excavation design, hydrology studies, and reinforced concrete design.
• Prepare construction plans and support earthquake engineering analyses.
• Perform construction observation and materials testing; some travel may be required.
