Job summary

Schnabel is seeking a temporary full-time Civil Engineering intern to support our geotechnical and environmental projects in Boise, ID. The internship runs May through August 2027 and focuses on applying professional principles to real problems under the supervision of senior engineers.

You will perform field work, construction observation, and laboratory tasks, create basic plans with AutoCAD and GIS, and assist in preparing geotechnical proposals and reports.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering bachelor's program.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Able to work in a team and follow directions.
• Willingness to perform office and field tasks.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform geotechnical field work including subsurface exploration and GPS layout.
• Observe construction and perform materials testing on site.
• Conduct laboratory testing.
• Create basic AutoCAD and GIS plans.
• Support engineers with geotechnical proposals and reports.
• Travel may be required.
