The Mannik & Smith Group, Inc. (MSG) is seeking a Civil Engineering Group Manager to lead the office’s civil engineering team, overseeing land development and site design projects in the Midwest.

Based in Cleveland, OH, the role combines hands-on design with leadership of project teams, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget adherence. The position offers a full-time salary range of $140,000-$180,000, relocation assistance, and a stay-on bonus after year one.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• PE license in Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania or Indiana required.
• 8+ years of civil engineering experience including leadership or supervision.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D required.
• Experience preparing stormwater reports and designs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the office’s civil engineering team for land and site development projects.
• Manage day-to-day operations, project execution, and staff performance.
• Mentor engineers and designers with technical guidance and growth opportunities.
• Oversee site development planning, grading, utilities, and stormwater plans.
• Review construction documents and cost estimates for accuracy.
• Oversee feasibility studies, zoning analyses, and design work.
• Provide technical leadership and ensure compliance with codes and standards.
• Maintain client relationships and support project approvals and growth.
• Coordinate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to meet schedules and budgets.
• Support business development and proposals.
• Foster collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
