The Mannik & Smith Group, Inc. (MSG) is seeking a Civil Engineering Group Manager to lead our civil and site development portfolio in the Midwest, based in Cleveland, OH. The role combines hands-on design with team leadership to deliver high-quality projects.

We offer a base salary of $140,000–$180,000 plus a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance for non-local candidates willing to relocate. This is a full-time, on-site role with opportunities for growth and professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in OH/MI/PA/IN required.
• Minimum 8 years of civil engineering experience with leadership.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D is required.
• Experience preparing stormwater reports and designs.
• Strong design and plan prep for site development.
• Experience with roadway design and survey coordination is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to guide staff and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the civil engineering team for land and site development projects.
• Manage day-to-day operations, project execution, and budgets.
• Mentor engineers and designers with technical guidance and growth.
• Oversee planning, design, and delivery of private development projects.
• Review construction documents for technical accuracy and quality.
• Oversee feasibility studies, zoning analyses, and stormwater design.
• Provide technical leadership and ensure compliance with codes.
• Build relationships with clients, municipalities, and agencies.
• Coordinate resources with project managers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Support business development and client relationships.
• Foster collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
