Job summary

The Mannik & Smith Group, Inc. (MSG) is seeking a Civil Engineering Group Manager to join our team in Cleveland, OH; relocation support available if not local.

The role leads design and execution of site and land development projects across the Midwest, with hands-on design work and team leadership to deliver high-quality results. You will mentor engineers, oversee project scope, budgets, and schedules, and coordinate with clients and regulators to secure project approvals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• PE license in Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania or Indiana required.
• 8+ years of civil engineering experience, including leadership or supervisory roles.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
• Experience with stormwater management reports and site development.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the office’s civil engineering team for land and site development projects.
• Manage day-to-day operations, project execution, budgets and schedules.
• Mentor engineers and designers, providing technical guidance and growth opportunities.
• Oversee design and delivery of private development projects, including site layout and utilities.
• Review construction documents and bid packages for accuracy and quality.
• Lead feasibility studies, zoning analyses, and stormwater design.
• Provide technical leadership for design calculations and code compliance.
• Build relationships with clients, municipalities, and regulators.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate resources.
• Support business development and proposal efforts.
• Foster collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
