Job summary

New York City Department of Transportation seeks Civil Engineering Interns for the Traffic Engineering & Planning (TEP) unit to support transportation planning, traffic engineering, and CEQR/SEQR/NEPA reviews under supervision.

You will collect data, perform field observations, and prepare technical materials, reports, and maps to help improve mobility, safety, and operations for NYC streets. A baccalaureate degree in civil engineering is required.

Qualifications

• A baccalaureate degree in civil engineering from an accredited college.
• Knowledge of traffic engineering and transportation planning is preferred.
• Valid NYS Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with transportation planning, traffic engineering, and environmental review activities.
• Collect, organize, and review transportation data; assist with field observations.
• Help prepare reports, presentations, maps, graphics, and other project materials; participate in project meetings.
