Job summary

The New York City Department of Transportation seeks a Civil Engineer 2 to lead CEQR/SEQR/NEPA environmental reviews and traffic studies within the Traffic Engineering & Planning unit. You will supervise staff, coordinate with agencies, and ensure timely, high-quality analyses for city projects.

Proficiency with HCS, Synchro/SimTraffic, AutoCAD, and MS Office is preferred; NYS PE license is required. Residency is not required.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of full-time civil engineering experience
• New York State Professional Engineer license required
• Master's degree may substitute for one year of experience
• Experience with CEQR/SEQR/NEPA processes is preferred

Responsibilities

• Manage staff and oversee environmental review under CEQR/SEQR/NEPA
• Perform traffic operation and safety studies using standard tools
• Review schematic designs and design reports for capital projects
• Prepare written reports and presentations and coordinate with agencies
