Job summary

City of New York, Division of Transportation Planning and Management (TPM) seeks Assistant Civil Engineer (20210) to perform traffic operations analyses, review environmental studies, collect data, conduct field investigations, and prepare technical memoranda and reports.

The position mainly works in the office with occasional field work, coordinating with DOT units, consultants, developers, and agency representatives.

Qualifications

• A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in civil engineering and one year of full-time satisfactory experience in civil engineering work; or

Responsibilities

• Perform traffic operations and safety analyses using established methods.
• Review environmental studies under CEQR/SEQR/NEPA; prepare memoranda and reports.
• Coordinate with DOT units, consultants, developers, and agency representatives to advance project objectives.
• Occasionally conduct field investigations and office-based analysis; manage multiple assignments.
