Job summary

The City of New York seeks a dedicated Assistant Civil Engineer to contribute to traffic engineering analyses and transportation planning. You will work within a multi-disciplinary TPM/TEP team on curb cuts, site access reviews, and street direction projects to improve safety and mobility across NYC streets.

Responsibilities include conducting analyses with Synchro/HCS, preparing written reports and graphic materials, attending community board meetings, and assisting with field work as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with 1 year of civil engineering experience or a Master's degree in civil engineering.
• Familiarity with traffic engineering principles and CEQR/ HCM methodologies is preferred.
• Strong writing and oral presentation skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to traffic/transportation operational and safety studies and projects.
• Analyze curb cuts, site development and site access reviews and advise on improvements.
• Prepare reports, graphics, minutes, and presentation materials for meetings.
