Houston Engineering Inc. in Des Moines, IA, invites civil engineering students to join as a Civil Engineer Intern, gaining field and in-office project experience.

You will support plans, estimates, and documentation while contributing to roadway design, drainage analysis, and erosion control. Responsibilities include AutoCAD Civil 3D drawings, surveying, and data collection, with outdoor work and collaboration with engineers across project types.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Agricultural and Biological Systems Engineering, Bioproducts and Biosystem Engineering, or related Engineering program.
• Completed coursework in general surveying and AutoCAD are preferred.
• Able to work extended periods of time in outdoor conditions.
• Above average math and communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and availability for overnight travel.
