Job summary

Atwell, LLC is seeking a Civil Engineer I to join our Land Development team in Tampa. You will assist in planning, design, and delivery of residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects, preparing site plans and permit documents, and collaborating with clients and regulators.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, technically proficient, and eager to apply fundamental civil engineering principles to real-world projects. Strong CAD and report-writing skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program.
• FE certification or successful completion of the FE Exam.
• 0–3 years of experience supporting site development, land development, or civil infrastructure projects.
• Co-op experience in civil engineering or land development is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project team members and clients on land development projects under the direction of senior staff.
• Prepare preliminary and final site plans, engineering calculations, reports, permit applications, and supporting project documentation.
• Assist with due diligence efforts, including site analysis, zoning reviews, utility evaluations, and project scheduling.
• Research and interpret local and state zoning ordinances, development regulations, and design standards.
• Conduct site visits and field investigations as required.
• Review survey data and existing site information, including legal descriptions and ALTA surveys.
• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and other engineering software to develop design plans and technical deliverables.
• Respond to agency and client review comments by revising plans and resubmittals.
• Assist with communication and coordination with clients, agencies, and stakeholders.
• Manage tasks and communicate priorities to Project Managers and Directors.
• Apply sound engineering judgment to support project objectives.
