Job summary

Pickett, an ESP Associates company, is seeking a Designer to provide technical and hands‑on support in creating design deliverables for electrical substations, site layouts and related civil works.

The role requires 5-7+ years of hands‑on design experience and proficiency with Civil 3D, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and stormwater analysis tools. Strong collaboration and communication skills, and the ability to pass a background check, are expected.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of hands‑on design experience required.
• Associate degree or certificate in CAD Technology required.
• Experience with design codes and software (Civil 3D, AutoCAD, MicroStation, stormwater analysis) required.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed design for electrical substations, permitting support, site layout, grading design, retaining wall design, stormwater analysis, containment structure design, survey coordination, and civil construction support.
• Conduct transmission right‑of‑way access improvement design including culvert sizing, stormwater drainage analysis, stabilization specification, construction support, and inspection.
• Develop and modify design criteria utilizing industry standards and client specifications.
• Coordinate design activities with other departments (Transmission, Distribution, Survey, etc.).
• Maintain a high level of quality and responsiveness in alignment with Pickett’s standards.
