Job summary

Granite Construction Company in Everett, WA is seeking an entry-level Construction Estimator support professional to provide technical engineering and cost information ensuring construction work meets engineering standards.

You will assist with controls for contract, budget and schedule, interpret drawings for craft workers, prepare documentation, and develop data such as quantity take-offs and material costs to support accurate estimates and bids. 0–2 years of experience required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field preferred.
• 0–2 years construction estimating support, engineering, field support, or similar experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and AGTEK Take-off software.
• Ability to interpret design drawings and communicate effectively with team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with job controls to ensure contract, budget, schedule, forecasting and job costing.
• Interpret drawings for craft workers installing material to ensure specifications are followed.
• Research resolution to drawing interpretation problems and ensure compliance with codes and specs.
• Prepare and disseminate reports, punch lists, and material calculations for accuracy.
• Provide technical support on project material controls to minimize extra costs.
• Prepare drawings and sketches to support construction work, change orders, and estimates.
• Provide building control lines and elevations for accurate measurement and installation.
• Develop data including quantity take-offs, material prices, labor costs per hour, and equipment needs.
• Research historical data to compile summary reports for future estimates.
• Maintain files backing up estimating figures to support bid accuracy.
