Job summary

The Ettling Center for Civic Leadership & Sustainability at University of the Incarnate Word seeks a Student Assistant to provide clerical and programmatic support. Duties include mass mailings, data entry, filing, customer service, and social media assistance under the Director's supervision.

This Federal Work-Study funded, part-time position is open to UIW students eligible for the program. Typical hours Monday–Friday 8a–5p with occasional early mornings and weekend projects.

Qualifications

• Must be a current UIW student.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Canva.
• Excellent organization and ability to complete tasks in a timely fashion.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of student/academic information and community members.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer multi-phone line.
• Actively participate in daily operations of the Center to ensure tasks are completed daily.
• Assist and support staff with development, preparation, implementation, assessment, and completion of programs and activities.
• Support daily office needs including copies, messages, mailouts, and marketing materials.
• Engage in communication with administrators, faculty, staff, students, and community.
• Assist with daily operations of the Cardinals’ Cupboard Food Pantry.
• Guide campus and local community members to UIW offices as needed.
• Promote the Ettling Center’s mission, vision, and goals to students and partners.
• Participate in projects hosted by the Ettling Center.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
