Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking a Citywide Assessment Team Case Manager to manage the entire evaluation process for non-attending students under IDEA. You will coordinate consent, assessments, eligibility, IEPs, and 504 plans for children aged 2.6 to 22 in Chicago.

You will lead team meetings, prepare documents, and ensure timely communication with families and schools, while maintaining compliance with state and federal timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, counseling, or related field is required
• Valid teaching license/Professional Educator License (PEL) issued by ISBE with appropriate endorsement(s) required
• Learning Behavior Specialist 1 (LBS1) and/or General Administrative endorsement required
• Minimum of four (4) years experience in school or educational setting as a teacher and/or case manager required
• Experience with Transition planning through age 21
• Certification to conduct Child Find Screenings is required by the end of the school year

Responsibilities

• Facilitates all special education team meetings including Consent/Assessment Planning, Eligibility, IEP conferences, and 504 plans in accordance with timelines
• Completes all necessary follow-up documents including School-Assignment Request Forms and Service Plan requests
• Provides written contributions to IEP sections such as General Considerations and Accommodations
• Develops annual goals and benchmarks addressing areas requiring educational supports and services
• Works with CAT Administrator and Team Lead to ensure an effective evaluation process
• Maintains timely electronic documents and finalizes records to meet compliance timelines
